Cultive Long Term Sustainability in Sending and Partnering

We never want to invest in dollars only, but we always want to invest in people through people

When it comes to mobilizing others in their calling of being sent, our focus is the Long-Term sustainability for the missionary and the missionary task. We accomplish this through our four pillars of mobilization of Church Planting Movements.

  1. We always focus on Healthy Disciples and Churches
  2. Nationals are the key in everything we do. Our goal is to empower them and not control them
  3. We must enter with an Exit Strategy or a Releasing Strategy from day one
  4. We must train for towards three purposes: Faithfully Abiding in Christ, Faithfully Applying Principles of Multiplication and Movement, and Faithfully Approving the Work of God

This is our foundation of long-term sustainability, but not the end of it. Sustainability has two sides, the first side is the one being sent and the other side is the one sending. Our goal is send others in a foundation of long-term sustainability, but we also want to do everything we can for them to position them to accomplish the work they have been sent to do. They are in the best position to engage and reach those they have been sent to, not us. For this reason after someone is sent we have three main focuses for them to aid them in their work: Connecting, Caring, and Cultivating. We first want to connect with them and their family to connect to the work. We want to know who they are, why they went, and what they do. Secondly we want to care for them to care for the work. All work is exhausting because we live in a fallen world. Missionary work is not different. They need care where they are at, so that they can better care for those they are working with there. And third, we want to cultivate our relationship with them to cultivate the work. This looks like ongoing coaching and encouragement. This is also taking short term trips to work alongside them, help them to accomplish new work, and simply to go see them to care for them and their family.

Sustainability happens not because we send someone, but because We Are Sent! Every single one of us are sent. We never want someone to go out from us thinking they are going alone, but we always want them to know that we are going with them! We do this from how we mobilize them to go to how we work alongside them in long-term sustainability…For We Are Sent with them!
